Tim Fischer Returning to Penola
On Thursday 5 September at 12 noon Tim Fischer will attend the Mary MacKillop Penola Centre in his capacity as author and launch his new book on Rome.
The full title of the book is “Holy See, Unholy me : 1000 days in Rome”. Part of the book proceeds will go to charity including the Mary MacKillop Foundation.
Mr Fischer said: “I am looking forward to beautiful Penola and where everything is green, to say thanks post Rome and explain the insider view of a posting to Rome. It was a great privilege to be the Australian Ambassador to the Holy See, first resident Ambassador and to step up for this great country in the super hub of Rome.
Coonawarra wines were a superb contribution to the work in Rome and I even bequeathed a small amount to my successor, John McCarthy QC who has taken up the posting.”
Mr Fischer added that all are welcome and it would help if people could rsvp to the Centre on 08 8737 2092
Lunch will follow the launch and bookings are required. Cost is $15.00 each.
